Assam: Woman Found Dead In Karimganj District

Karimganj: A body of a young woman was found at a filed in Assam's Karimganj district here on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Panchami Sinha, 30, hailing from Kachubari area of Patharkandi and initial reports suggest that she was raped and murder.

Upon receiving the information of the same, a police team arrived on the spot and took the body under their custody.

After investigating the matter, the police came to know about a love affair of the deceased with a man, identified as Libu Sinha.

As per the police, the woman's family has fixed an arranged marriage with another man, however, Sinha rejected it. Soon after that she got to know that Libu Sinha was having an affair with another woman following which a rift created between the duo.

Reportedly, on Saturday evening, Libu called her to meet him and since then the woman missing. Her family searched every where but they didn't find her and on the next morning her body was recovered in the field.

Eventually, as the Linu's name appear in the case, the police arrested.

In August this month, the body of a woman named Mofida Begum (30) was found inside a sack that was dumped in a ditch at the Bhaskar Nagar area of Bamunimaidam.

Police sources said that the victim had been staying at a rented house in the locality with her husband and two young daughters, but they were found to be missing after the body was recovered.

The sources added that Mofida Begum's current spouse was her second husband and her daughters were born while she was staying with her first husband.
